Racism dehumanizes all of us. As Unitarian Universalists, our faith calls us to justice, equity, and compassion in human relationships. Understanding racism fully means continuing to learn about the horrible effects of racism on people of color and society as a whole. We want our young people to recognize that racism goes beyond individual prejudices against people with skin colors different than their own.
As a faith community, we have an obligation to create a safe space where people of all ages can have these conversations.
This program just begins to scratch the surface of a viable introduction to the cause of anti-racism, but we believe it is a good beginning. Please plan to make participation in this program a priority for your children in January 2018!
