“We Are Superman: The Transformation of 31st and Troost”
(80 Minutes.) Sponsor: Bruce Wiggins, Social Justice Committee Chair and former city planner in Kansas City.
A dividing line in a very segregated Kansas City, the corner of 31st Street and Troost Avenue is an epicenter of poverty, violence, and racism. It’s also where several individuals and organizations, along with this community’s forgotten citizens, fight every day to bring positive change others ignore.
We Are Superman is a moving film showing how anyone can be a “Superman,” doing what others might consider impossible.
Doors open at 6:45 p.m. Films begin promptly at 7:00 p.m. Discussion follows, as time allows. Snacks, tea, coffee and cider will be provided! If you need childcare please contact Jennifer Kaufman.
