Help bring a joyful Christmas to children and families at Milwaukee’s Parkside School of the Arts! Choose a tag off our Giving Tree, located at the RE Table, and return a new, unwrapped gift by December 17. Alternatively, choose to bring in new or gently used winter wear, such as scarves, hats, mittens, gloves or coats.
It’s so easy! Pick a tag, buy a gift & return it unwrapped with the tag! Gift price must be at least $10. Tags have the gender, age, and wish list item noted. Gift Tags may be chosen from the tree on November 26-December 10.
Milwaukee’s Parkside School of the Arts serves over ninety refugee or homeless students and their families. YRUU Senior Mallory B. has invited us to join her efforts in bringing some warmth and joy to these families this season. Popular wish list items include cozy blankets, portable Walkman/CD players (to help with learning English), Legos, craft kits, body wash, books for all ages, and gift cards. Parkside is also accepting new or gently used winter outerwear, gloves, hats, earmuffs, etc. in all sizes.
Chosen gifts and winter wear should be brought back to the RE Table at First Church unwrapped by December 17, when ALL are invited to join in the fun of wrapping the gifts with the RE students in the Coffee Hours following both Pageants. Please join us!
Winter Clothing Drive:
This year, we are proud to support one of our YRUU Youth Group members in her efforts to provide winter clothing, accessories, and all other gifts donated to Parkside Elementary School in Bayview. Parkside School has over 60 refugee students and over 30 homeless students, all of whom need to stay warm this winter.
We are enthusiastically welcoming gifts of new or gently used winter outerwear and accessories, in sizes from children through adult. Donations must be clean and in working condition (i.e. zippers, snaps, and buttons.) These items may be hung on our Mitten Tree in the Common Room from December 3-17.
