Sunday Forum: Connecting Faith, Environmental Justice, and Sustainability

Presenter: Dr. Huda Alkaff, Founder and Director, Wisconsin Green Muslims.

Wisconsin Green Muslims intends to educate the general public about Islamic environmental teachings and to form coalitions with others working toward a just, healthy, peaceful and sustainable future. Dr. Alkaff is an environmentalist with degrees in conservation ecology, sustainable development and environmental education.

Dr. Alkaff received the 2015 White House Champions of Change for Faith Climate Justice Leaders recognition, the 2016 Sierra Club Great Waters Group Environmental Hero of the Year award, and in 2017 Huda is serving as a co-chair of the US Climate Action Network 100% Renewable Energy user group.

Sunday Forum is a Sunday morning lecture series at First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee that showcases provocative, sometimes controversial, speakers discussing topical issues of the day: the arts, politics, the environment, health issues, education and more. Click here for a full list of coming Forum programs . The Forum — in Max Otto Hall on our second floor — begins at 10:10 a.m. and lasts about 45 minutes. Speakers give a 30-minute presentation, followed by questions and brief comments from the audience. Coffee is served. Childcare is available.
