Sunday Forum: “Gravitational Waves”

Presenter: Professor Xavier Siemans, Director, NANOGrav Physics Frontiers Center.

It has been 100 years since Albert Einstein predicted gravitational waves, and they are now a reality. Gravitational wave astronomy will revolutionize the study of the early universe.
Learn about the gravitational waves created by the collision of black holes and neutron stars and the work being done at the UWM-Center for Gravitation, Cosmology and Astrophysics.

Sunday Forum is a Sunday morning lecture series at First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee that showcases provocative, sometimes controversial, speakers discussing topical issues of the day: politics, the environment, health issues, the arts, education and more. Speakers give a 30-minute presentation, followed by questions and brief comments from the audience. Coffee is served. Childcare is available.
