Sunday Service: “Liberté, égalité, fraternité: Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity”

October 23, 2016

TWO SERVICES & RELIGIOUS EDUCATION, 9:00 & 11:00 a.m.

“Liberté, égalité, fraternité: Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity”
Bruce Knotts, Director of Unitarian Universalist United Nations Office
(United Nations Sunday)

Bruce Knotts, UU United Nations Office
With music by Jack Forbes Wilson, Resident Artist.

Join us for United Nations Sunday, with worship services and forum led by the Director of the Unitarian Universalist Association’s United Nations Office, as we affirm the connections between UU principles and the vital issues dealt with at the UN.

Bruce says this about his sermon: “American history shows that the United States was founded on devotion to Liberty, with only slight attention to Equality and Fraternity (or Community). What do we need to do to get these three elements into balance, where people have the liberty they need to thrive, the equality they need to succeed, and the community they need to take care of each other?”
