One comparison of Unitarians vs. Universalists defines Universalists by their belief in a God too good to damn anyone to eternity in Hell while the Unitarians defined themselves as too good to be damned to eternity in Hell. There is an historic class divide between the learned, urban Unitarians and the rural farmers who populated the Universalist chapels. Have we grown past those divisions, or do issues of class still linger in our congregations?
