ONE SERVICE AND RELIGIOUS EDUCATION 10:00 a.m.
“Healing Elephants and Us”
Speakers: Bruce Wiggins & Mark Gill, Pulpit Guests
Music: Alissa Rhode, Lead Music Director
Elephants in their natural habitat are suffering chronic stress and exhibiting violent, abnormal behavior akin to what humans experience with PTSD. Recent research shows that elephants are remarkably similar to humans. Church members and friends who took a recent Adult RE class associated with Northwest Earth Institute will explore elephant and human trauma along with recovery that helps show how to build a more peaceful, just and sustainable world.
