“The Home We Never Knew We Had”
The Rev. Dena McPhetres
Dan Dance, Guest Pianist
The fastest-growing religious group of our time is comprised of those who check the box next to the word “none” on national surveys. And yet, as Maya Angelou wrote, “The ache for home lives in all of us, the safe place where we can go as we are and not be questioned.” For those who consider themselves “spiritual, but not religious,” can our church be the home they are looking for, but never knew they had? Join me to explore the demographic of the “nones” and what constitutes a spiritual home as we enter the 175th anniversary year of the founding of this congregation.
