BLACK LIVES MATTER COLLABORATIVE, which includes First Church, recently, joined the Close the MSDF Coalition. The Coalition will be picketing regularly on the 23rd of the month beginning Sunday, July 23, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the prison located at 1015 N. 10th St. We need to reinvest the excessive corrections spending to help make the formerly incarcerated more employable, to focus on keeping communities together, to find alternatives to locking people up for months at a time due to minor rule…

Holiday Giving Tree: This holiday season the Children's Religious Education program leaders will once again be teaming up with a local organization to provide gifts for families in need. In the past, we have had requests for new items such as toys/games, sweaters, shirts, art supplies, and small denomination gift cards, but we will issue a more specific list once we confirm our chosen recipients. The Holiday Giving Tree itself will be at the RE Table during coffee hour starting…

“Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret” (90 Minutes) Partner: Earth Justice           Follow filmmaker Kip Anderson as he discovers one of the most harmful industries to our environment and animal agriculture and how it leads to greenhouse gasses, destroyed forests, pollution and  depleted waterways.
