The Ordination of Kimberlee Tomczak Carlson

No Morning Worship Service Today.

Instead, join us for the online Ceremony at 2 p.m.

In Unitarian Universalism, only a congregation has the power to ordain and officially designate a person as UU clergy. After twenty years of serving our faith in numerous professional capacities, it is our sacred honor to ordain our own Minister of Religious Education, Kimberlee Tomczak Carlson.

Join us virtually for this rite of transformation of a relationship that already exists, which will become more vivid, full, grounded, and soaring during the ceremony. We who participate also will be changed. Download the order of service  for the ordination.

After the service, greet Rev. Kimberlee in a socially distant, safe parade from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. All are welcome! For more details see:  https://www.ordainkimberlee.org/

Walking Parade: Gather at Burns Commons (1300 N Franklin Place) between 4:00-4:15, when the parade will depart. Masks are required, and participants are asked to remain six feet apart from those outside their household.

Driving Parade: Meet in the parking lot of the East Point Pick ‘N Save (605 E Lyon Street) between 4:00-4:15. Look for a decorated car where you can pick up streamers, balloons, and more to make your car festive! The parade will depart from the parking lot at 4:15. Please pass by the church only once to allow traffic to continue and everyone to participate.

Gifts and Cards: Gifts and cards may be dropped off at the church during the parade. Cards may also be mailed to the church, addressed to Kimberlee Tomczak Carlson.

Clergy, religious educators, and seminarians are invited to gather in a virtual Robing Room from 1:00-1:45 p.m. A virtual reception will be held from 4:00-4:30 p.m. for all who have been a part of Kimberlee’s journey and would like to participate. More information about these ordination events can be found here.
