“Frustrated with the Political Process? Try Socially Responsible Investing with Shareholder Activism.”

Presenter:  Christopher Cox, Associate Director, Seventh Generation Interfaith-Coalition for Responsible Investment.

Democratic engagement is more important than ever, but what can we do in this era of political division, Congressional gridlock, and ever-changing regulations from one administration to the next? Have you considered socially responsible investing? For five decades, groups of socially conscious investors have worked for and won corporate-level change. At the corporate level, decisions are made every day that affect climate change, sustainability, economic justice, worker/consumer safety and public health. Seventh Generation Interfaith Coalition for Responsible Investment (SGI) is a coalition of faith and values-driven institutional investors who view the management of their investments as a powerful catalyst for social change.

Host:  Terry Wiggins.

The Forum — in Max Otto Hall on our second floor — begins at 10:10 a.m. and lasts about 45 minutes. Speakers give a 30-minute presentation, followed by questions and brief comments from the audience. Coffee is served. Childcare is available.
