Honoring Religion Education at First Church

Everyone is invited to join the RE department on Saturday, September 15, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Common Room.

In this program, we will honor and reflect on our First Church RE history, with the help of professional Interim Religious Educator Michele Grove.

Beginning with this Saturday session, Michele will be guiding us through First Church’s transition in RE this year. Together, we will honor it, celebrate it, and mourn when needed. Religious education is part of our entire faith life, and everyone is invited to be a part of this interim time of reflection, exploration, and discerning our way forward.

It is important for our Religious Education staff and our Children’s Religious Education team to hear many different voices and ideas from all of you, so please join us on September 15 to honor our First Church RE history!

Lunch and childcare will be provided.

Childcare will be in the Room, starting at 8:45 a.m. Please RSVP using the form below.

Michele Grove is a religious educator veteran with more than 25 years of experience. She has been serving as an interim religious educator since 2006. She currently lives in Sisseton, South Dakota, with her husband and 10-year-old daughter. Even though she is not currently serving a congregation, she works in close collaboration with the Guild of Interim Religious Educators and is going to school at Wesley Theological Seminary. She believes that interim religious education work is transformative work, and that over its first decade, congregations have benefited greatly from its unique perspectives.

Please RSVP below for this event.
