“Milwaukee Farmers Union: New Approach To Eating Local”

Presenter:  Janice Christensen,  Life-time Farmer, member Milwaukee Farmers Union.

Local?  Organic?  Sustainable?  Today, there are new opportunities for you to get food grown right here in the city by urban farmers.  Learn about the Milwaukee Farmers Union and its revolutionary approach to delivering food on a “hyper-local” level! During the 2018 season, the Milwaukee Farmers Union delivered more than 5,000 pounds of food grown in Milwaukee  to groups and individuals. Raised on a potato farm in central Wisconsin, presenter Janice Christensen is currently farming a city lot in the Riverwest neighborhood of Milwaukee.

Host: Jo Ann Bachar.

The Forum — in Max Otto Hall on our second floor — begins at 10:10 a.m. and lasts about 45 minutes. Speakers give a 30-minute presentation, followed by questions and brief comments from the audience. Coffee is served. Childcare is available.
