“Rebellion: An Act of Spirituality and Love”

Today’s Topic:

The sacred idea of rebellion begins in our hearts, in the soles of our feet, and the centers of our palms. This work is hard, but it is necessary. In the space of beloved community, we will explore how we can best hold rebellion in our hearts and minds to combat today’s modern society and the forces of hate.

Ehlona Walker is a senior at Brown Deer High and uses they/them pronouns. They enjoy being in musicals at school as well as slam poetry, German Honor Society, being the school’s National Honor Society secretary, mentoring kids at the local elementary school, and traveling to be with other UU youth (yoUUth). At church, they co-lead youth group, lead worship during lock-ins, and serve on the Anti-Racism Team. Ehlona is recognized by the UUA as a Luminary Leader, a trained youth chaplain, and is also a graduate of Midwest Leadership School (‘16), Thrive (‘17), and Summer Seminary (‘18). After their senior year, they hope to double major in elementary education and American Sign Language Interpretation.
