The Power of We: Finding Inspiration, Possibility, and Purpose in Religious Education
Join us as we re-imagine our approach to religious education and explore how everything we do at church is religious education. In this workshop we will:
- Find inspiration by learning from the experience of other congregations, exploring 21st Century trends, challenges and opportunities in religious education;
- Explore how we can build multigenerational community that creates connections across generations and has a lasting impact for our children and adults; and
- Articulate what matters most to us in religious education, defining our purpose and our identity in what we do on Sunday mornings.
Our time together will be facilitated by Kimberly Sweeney, who is a credentialed religious educator and the founder of Courageous Faith Consulting. She worked for seven years as the Lead for Faith Formation on the UUA’s New England Regional staff team. Kim is the author of The Death of Sunday School and The Future of Faith Formation. She is a sought-after presenter and workshop leader, and has led programs across the United States and Canada.
Childcare will be provided upon request. Please contact Lillian Schley at RE.Admin@uumilwaukee.org
