“Turning the Corner: Understanding Conscious Aging”

Today’s Topic:

Join us for this Forum presentation by Marjorie Nixon, LSCW, on aging, exploring our self-limiting stereotypes and assumptions, and considering how to make better choices for life-affirming actions and beliefs.

Nixon will address self-compassion to cope more effectively with change, worry, and stresses associated with aging. What gives heart and meaning to our lives? How can we enhance our sense of connection?

As Ms. Nixon says, “We are the creators of a New Vision of Aging.”

This program is very appropriate for family members, as well as those approaching aging, and for those who work with the aging population.

Host: Thallis Drake.

Sunday Forum is a Sunday morning lecture series at First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee that showcases provocative, sometimes controversial, speakers discussing topical issues of the day: politics, the environment, health issues, the arts, education and more. The Forum — in Max Otto Hall on our second floor — begins at 10:10 a.m. and lasts about 45 minutes. Speakers give a 30-minute presentation, followed by questions and brief comments from the audience. Coffee is served. Childcare is available.
