An Address by Mayor Cavalier Johnson

January 16, 2022 | 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Categories:

Cavalier Johnson, Milwaukee Mayor.

Johnson was installed as Acting Mayor of the City of Milwaukee following Tom Barret’s resignation. Among initiatives he has announced is a plan to address reckless driving, something which affects all of us traveling in the city. He also plans to address rising gun violence, public health, jobs, supporting small businesses, and economic development throughout the city.

Born and raised in Milwaukee, he was elected 2nd District Alderman on the Common Council in 2016 and elected President of the Common Council by alders in April 2020.  Host: Bruce Wiggins

First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee

For over 50 years, the Sunday Forum lecture series has showcased provocative, sometimes controversial, speakers discussing topical issues of the day: politics, the environment, health issues, the arts, education, and more. The Sunday Forum is held online via Zoom and YouTube Live at 11:00 a.m. during the regular church year. Speakers give a 45-minute presentation, followed by questions and brief comments from the audience. The content of Forum lectures does not necessarily express the viewpoint of First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee, but are meant to offer thoughtful topics which our members often pursue further on their own.
