Religious Education for Children & Teens
regular church year
- 9:00 a.m. & 11:00 a.m.
Nursery–7th Grade Sunday School
(Note: 8th graders not taking part in OWL are welcome to join grades 5–7 at either service.)
- 9:00 – 10:30 a.m.
9th–12th Grade Teen Programs
Children and teachers begin their summer religious education activities on the lower level on Sundays.
Sunday Forums are held from 10:10-10:50 a.m. (between services). This lecture series showcases provocative – and sometimes controversial – speakers, discussing topical issues of the day: the arts, politics, the environment, health issues, education, and more. Speakers give a 30-minute presentation followed by questions and brief comments from the audience.
Join us Sundays at 10:10 a.m. in Max Otto Hall on our second floor. Coffee is served, and childcare is available. Forums are scheduled from September through May, with a short break during the holidays.
Childcare for infants and toddlers is available in our nursery on the lower level. For parents who want to listen to Sunday Service but don’t want to be separated from their little ones, the Adlai Stevenson Parlor broadcasts the service as it happens. One of our ushers will be happy to direct you.
After our Sunday service, join us for Coffee Hour in the Leenhouts Common Room — it’s a great opportunity to greet old friends, meet new ones and catch up on all that’s going on here at First Church. Along with coffee, tea and juice, you’ll find signup sheets for events and programs, information about our committees and groups and lots of lively conversation. And our youth group sells bagels too!
