October 3, 2021 | 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Categories:

David Crowley is the youngest, and the first African-American, County Executive. He grew up in the 53206 zip code and knows Milwaukee. Following two terms in the State Assembly, he became County Exec in 2020. He will discuss his vision of achieving racial equity and making Milwaukee the healthiest county in Wisconsin. He will discuss his administration’s work to improve public health, recover from the COVID-19 pandemic, and move resources upstream to best serve the needs of the communities they serve. He’ll give an update on the County’s budget crisis and the need to diversify revenue streams to keep critical services running and provide much needed property tax relief.  Host: Bruce Wiggins

First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee

For over 50 years, the Sunday Forum lecture series has showcased provocative, sometimes controversial, speakers discussing topical issues of the day: politics, the environment, health issues, the arts, education, and more. The Sunday Forum is held online via Zoom and YouTube Live at 11:00 a.m. during the regular church year. Speakers give a 45-minute presentation, followed by questions and brief comments from the audience. The content of Forum lectures does not necessarily express the viewpoint of First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee, but are meant to offer thoughtful topics which our members often pursue further on their own.
