Organizing Revival Training

First Church will host a workshop designed to help us learn more about Faith and Justice Non-violent Resistance. We will do the beginning work of building consensus on red lines, working together to resist authoritarianism and develop a shared strategy going forward. A red line in our context means an action, like declaring martial law or canceling a midterm election, that we agree upon and organize for in advance that would trigger immediate mass coordinated opposition.

This training is based on content from The Organizing Revival, a national movement to put the power of change back in the hands of the community. Reverend Jennifer Nordstrom will lead the training and discussion.

The training is for anyone who wants to learn more about the Pillars that support our democracy and how they can be impacted by citizen action, and for anyone who is committed to participating in future actions to defend our democracy.  Please feel free to invite others who would be good at building collective strategy and are motivated to participate in community actions.
