December 1, 2024 | 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Categories:

Andy Palec, son of Samuel.

Andy Palec shares the story and experiences of his father, Samuel, who survived the Holocaust. Samuel was born in Lithuania in 1921, and at 20 years of age, the Germans invaded his small town of Janova and targeted the Jews for death. It happened with astonishing speed, and he was quickly separated from his family. He would spend nearly four years in the grip of terror. He miraculously survived and was liberated by the US Army from the Dachau Concentration Camp and eventually emigrated to the United States, where he started life anew.

First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee

For over 50 years, the Sunday Forum lecture series has showcased provocative, sometimes controversial, speakers discussing topical issues of the day: politics, the environment, health issues, the arts, education, and more. The Sunday Forum is held at 10:00 a.m. September through May. Speakers give a 45-minute presentation, followed by questions and brief comments from the audience. The content of Forum lectures does not necessarily express the viewpoint of First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee, but are meant to offer thoughtful topics which our members often pursue further on their own.
