The Intersections of Government & the Rule of Law

James L. Santelle, Former United States Attorney, Eastern Wisconsin
Using illustrations from recent news events in the areas of rule of law, the administration of justice, and the operation of government, this Forum will describe their most significant legal- and court-focused aspects–and also explain the implications of them for our contemporary lives and livelihoods. Affording participants abundant opportunities to ask questions and offer perspectives, the Forum will conclude with the presentation of practical ways in which responsible, caring, and engaged people may respond to the identified justice-related challenges of our times. (The interactive discussion will be complemented by visual expositions and images of current topics.)

For over 50 years, the Sunday Forum lecture series has showcased provocative, sometimes controversial, speakers discussing topical issues of the day: politics, the environment, health issues, the arts, education, and more. The Sunday Forum is held at 10:00 a.m. September through May. Speakers give a 45-minute presentation, followed by questions and brief comments from the audience. The content of Forum lectures does not necessarily express the viewpoint of First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee, but are meant to offer thoughtful topics which our members often pursue further on their own.
