What does the Children’s Faith Formation (CFF) Team Do?

by Andy Boddyspargo, CFF Team Member

Below your very feet most Sundays, the children of our congregation giggle, draw, learn, question, and make friends. This is made possible by our amazing staff, but they are also supported by volunteers (btw, did you know we need a few more volunteers – check with Fiona!), including a…wait for it… COMMITTEE! Our Children’s Faith Formation Committee helps plan events, organize and appreciate volunteers, and support Reverend Kimberly and Fiona in their amazing ministry. This year, we updated our goal, and we’d like to share it with you. Thanks for reading!

The Children’s Faith Formation Team’s goal for 2026-27 is to nurture a program where children feel a sense of belonging, engage their curiosity, explore life’s questions, and grow in Unitarian Universalist values. We seek to cultivate this growth within a community of families and volunteers who feel welcomed, connected, and supported. To achieve this, we commit to:

  • Inclusion: Honoring and celebrating the full diversity of our children and families.
  • Flexibility: Meeting families where they are and adapting to their evolving needs.
  • Volunteer Care: Equipping, encouraging, and appreciating volunteers so they can thrive in their roles.
  • Sustainability: Building a practical program that aligns with our capacity that can flourish for years to come.
