“Earth-Friendly Eating” Program May 20

First Church members Terry and Bruce Wiggins will present and lead discussion on how our food choices and food system affect or aggravate climate change, and vice versa — how climate change is affecting our food. They will explore how and why personal changes are necessary, along with some suggested changes. They will also explore why our food system needs big changes – the what and why. For example, why buying organic is not the solution many think it is.

Bruce and Terry have experience with various food and justice organizations for many years. They are gardeners, cooks and eaters plus lifetime Sierra Club members. Bruce was co-chair of a work group for the City’s Climate and Equity Plan, which addresses food equity along with food waste.

Co-sponsored by the First Unitarian Society Earth Justice Ministry and the Sierra Club Great Waters Group
