Blessed at Pridefest is a powerful street ministry that First Church co-sponsors each year in Milwaukee. Interfaith organizations create a blessing booth and clergy offer personalized blessing to Pridefest participants using our blessing menu and are given a “Blessed at Pridefest” sticker.
Clergy and lay volunteers work together to explain, help introduce and guide people to participate in the blessing booth. The blessing booth also features a photo backdrop with props and a Rainbow Ribbon Blessing gate, a collaborative art project. People are invited to write a blessing on a ribbon and tie it to the Rainbow Ribbon Blessing gate for the blessings to be shared as they are blown by the wind throughout the Summerfest grounds.
VOLUNTEER: Blessed at Pridefest this year is on Friday, June 6th, 3:00-9:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 7th, 12:00-9:00 p.m. and the volunteer shifts are 3 hours long.
