Job Opening Facilities Assistant/Tech Assistant

REPORTS TO: Director of Administration
STATUS: 25 hours per week
FSLA: Non-exempt (hourly)
EFFECTIVE: 05.19.26

FACILITIES ASSISTANT SCOPE OF THE JOB: Under direction of the Director of Administration, assist users of the church facilities in conducting their programs, provide security for the facilities, and perform other miscellaneous tasks.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Including but not limited to:
• Provide set-up and assistance for meetings and events including audio visual equipment and mixed mode meetings.
• Represent the church to users of the building, answering facilities questions, and providing assistance as needed.
• Manage the facilities on Sundays including opening buildings, sanctuary set-up, Forum lecture set-up, coffee set-up and clean-up, straightening up after services.
• Provide security for facilities on some weekday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays including some monitoring of the front door and closing procedures.
• Office and custodial tasks as directed by the Facilities Manager (e.g., snow shoveling, printing & folding, prepping US mail mailings, watering plants, straightening kitchen, running the vacuum cleaner, running dish sanitizer, etc.)
• Be available on a per-event honorarium basis (events entailing 1-4 hours work), providing services for groups which meet outside regular hours (e.g., wedding rehearsals, Saturday night receptions or concerts).

TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANT SCOPE OF THE JOB: Under the direction of the Office Manager, and supervised by the Director of Administration, provide technical support to the administration staff team.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Including but not limited to:
• Download, edit and post featured YouTube videos.
• Schedule church meetings on room calendars and Zoom as needed.
• Create simple online forms.
• Database management project assistance such as cleanup records, track down lost addresses.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to understand, write, and speak in English.
• Ability to comprehend questions and direction from staff and members.
• Ability to lift and maneuver 50-pound banquet tables regularly and climb 10-foot ladders to perform work such as changing light bulbs.
• Ability to move quickly around the facilities, be on their feet for extended times, and occasionally crouch or kneel.
• Ability to use most cleaners and solvents and wear protective gloves.
• Ability to work occasionally in cold weather and hot temperatures.
