What Will You Do for Earth Month?

Earth Justice Ministry (EJM) is celebrating Earth Month with the monthly theme of “JOY.” Come ENJOY the Earth Day Sunday service (it’s also Easter) on April 20.

Addressing Climate Change and related human toll: an Earth Day Challenge: We will launch a display on that Sunday, April 20, to help you understand how we might address climate change. We will ask people to make a commitment – big or small – to work on during the six weeks between Earth Day and Flower Communion Sunday, June 2.

EJM’s display will include ideas of what you might do to reduce your production of climate-changing greenhouse gas emissions. The idea will be for you to post what you plan to do, do it in the six weeks, and then we will recognize people who have accomplished their goals. The idea is to help people realize the changes they can make.

River Cleanup: Another April opportunity is to join a river clean-up, sponsored by Milwaukee Riverkeeper, on Saturday April 26. Registration opens March 21. Sadly, hundreds of us need to pick up trash around our rivers each year, but fortunately many people of all ages are involved in working towards having swimmable, fishable, and drinkable waters.
