Welcome Is Not a Mat

September 10, 2023 | 9:00 am & 11:00 am

Categories:

Ingathering Sunday.

2 services at 9:00 and 11:00 a.m. begins.

Today’s Topic

Welcome is one of the gifts of our faith, something given to us that we also cultivate and give to others. Welcome opens the heart and tells you that you belong. It is not just a plastic mat with a cute saying we place in front of the door, it is a regular practice of opening our doors and inviting people inside. It takes intentionality, preparation, and commitment, but its payoff is a community where people feel free to be themselves and be loved as they are. Join us for this service that explores the practice of welcome.

Worship Team:

Rev. Jennifer Nordstrom, Senior Minister
Rev. Dena McPhetres, Associate Minister
Tristan Strelitzer, Choral Director
Rev. Kimberlee Tomczak Carlson, Minister of Religious Education
Desiree Pointer Mace, Worship Associate

Parking: Our church has no parking lot. Jewish Family Services lot: JFS welcomes us to use their parking lot on Sundays. It is located 3 blocks west of the church, on Van Buren near Knapp St. Kingshead lot: On Sundays we can also use the gated parking lot on the corner of Van Buren and Knapp Streets. After you park, get a token from an usher in order to exit the lot. We also rely on street parking in our neighborhood. Here is a map with details.
