May 7 The Human Thread Christopher Cox, Campaign Manager An experienced parish worker in the U.S. & Latin America, Chris manages The Human Thread campaign in Milwaukee. Their mission is to "foster awareness that promotes solidarity between consumers of clothing and those who produce them to create a more just economy and sustainable communities." Chris is eager to reflect on global clothing connections, encouraging a view of living in right relationship with all, regardless of distance. Host: Scot Henry

May 14  AFS: International High School Student Exchange Program Karen Nelson, AFS Staff Person for Greater Milwaukee AFS Intercultural is a worldwide, nonprofit leading student exchange for 70 years. AFS brings cultures together; hosting over 2200 students each year from more than 40 countries. AFS sends U.S. high school students abroad to 42 countries. After Karen’s presentation, Lisa Noble, her host daughter, Oda from Germany and her son Erik who studied in Switzerland will share their experiences. Host:  Lisa Nobel & Mary Buchel

May 21    The LEED Green Building Program in Milwaukee Korinne Haeffel, Dir., Community Advancement for WI & Iowa, U.S. Green Building Council The U.S. Green Building Council promotes sustainability in the building and construction industry. Its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification program transforms the way our buildings and communities are designed, constructed and operated. Ms. Haeffel will describe the LEED program and present examples of LEED-certified projects in Milwaukee.
