Are you looking for some way to help Get Out The Vote for the November 8 mid-term elections? During the social hours on Sundays, October 2, 9 and 16, your First Church, Defend Democracy/UU the Vote team, will have tables set up with many different ideas to help promote free and fair elections this November. Knowing that people have different comfort levels regarding this very important task, there will be a number of different suggestions and activities. Stop by and you might find something that you are comfortable doing.
Several of Unitarian Universalist Seven Principals may be directly impacted by the results of this critically important election in one way or another. What we can do now is to practice the Fifth Principal, “The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process within our congregations and society at large.” Democracy is strongest when all participate! When people don’t vote, democracy loses. Join us in this effort to Get Out The Vote!
