OWL Teacher Training

Honest, accurate information about sexuality changes lives. It dismantles stereotypes and assumptions, builds self-acceptance and self-esteem, fosters healthy relationships, improves decision making, and has the potential to save lives. For these reasons and more, First Unitarian Society of Milwaukee is proud to offer Our Whole Lives (OWL), a comprehensive, lifespan sexuality education training, for those who would like to teach this curriculum in their congregation.

This is an intensive Our Whole Lives (OWL) teacher training for Elementary (Grade K-6) AND Secondary (Grade 7-12) levels.

WHEN:  Friday through Sunday, August 19-21:

• Friday – 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
• Saturday – 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.
• Sunday – 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

FEES:  $325.00 per person.
Due:  July 22, 2022.

CURRICULUM YOU MUST PURCHASE: All participants MUST purchase and bring with them a copy of the curriculum for the levels they are being trained for. Contact the UUA bookstore to purchase materials. Please allow enough time to receive materials and review them before coming to the training.

Minimum ages requirement:  The minimum age for OWL training participants is 25 years old if part of the UUA. The minimum age for OWL training participants is 21 years old if part of the UCC community.

COVID Safety: Depending on the COVID case count, we may be eating outside and wearing masks indoors. Proof of COVID vaccination is required to enter our historic building.

Meals: Registration includes Friday dinner as well as breakfast and lunch on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday dinner will be on your own.
