Today’s Topic:
With so much going on, from autocracy to the climate, an individual might be forgiven for losing faith in the value of taking action. What can one person do in the face of overwhelm? Fortunately, we have a say in how these times change us and our communities.
Rev. Jim Foti is a freelance UU minister based in Minnesota. From 2014 to 2022, he was an assistant minister at the First Unitarian Society of Minneapolis, and in 2023 he served as assistant sabbatical minister here at First Church. A Milwaukee native, Jim is a UW-Madison grad, and he’s currently a doctoral student in creative writing and public theology at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Before ministry, Jim had a 20-year career as a newspaper journalist.

Parking: Our church has no parking lot. Lincoln School for the Arts lot: The entrance is located 1 short block west of First Church, on Marshall, just south of Ogden. Jewish Family Services lot: JFS welcomes us to use their parking lot on Sundays. It is located 3 blocks west of the church, on Van Buren near Knapp St. We also rely on street parking in our neighborhood. Here is a map with details.
