Facilities Maintenance Technician Job Description
JOB DESCRIPTION — FACILITIES MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager
STATUS: 17 hours per week, $19 per hour
FSLA: Non-exempt (hourly)
EFFECTIVE: 10-07-24
SCOPE OF THE JOB: Under direction of the Facilities Manager, provide maintenance and project services as needed for the upkeep of the church facilities.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists in maintenance, construction and remodeling projects in all areas of facilities.
- Periodically confer with the Facilities Manager as to the priority level of projects.
- Order parts, equipment, supplies, materials for tasks and document those expenses.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in all facilities.
- Occasionally fill in for Facilities Assistant.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Technical expertise, minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC repairs, painting, carpentry, minor plumbing and minor electrical.
- Excellent and creative problem solving skills including research online, knowledge of appropriate tools and materials, and gathering information with end users.
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
- Good time management skills. Completes all assigned work in a timely manner.
- Ability to work independently and use good judgment as to when to check with Facilities Manager before proceeding.
- Good communications skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical breakdowns.
Physical requirements
- Must be able to write and understand English.
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 80 lb. banquet tables.
- Must be able to see literature for printing and folding.
- Must be able to go up a 10 ft. step ladder and perform work.
- Must be able to work in temperature of -20 degrees through 100 degrees Fahrenheit
- Must be able to work wearing rubber and cloth gloves.
- Must be able to distinguish colors.
