Today’s Topic:
What if suffering is not only a catalyst for joy, but necessary to experience joy in its fullness? Just like salt is harsh on the tongue alone, suffering in and of itself can feel unbearable. Suffering can also intensify and highlight joy, just like salt enhances flavors in a dish! Join us on Sunday as we explore transforming suffering, and finding circular joy.
Amy Wilbourne has been a member of First Church since 2011. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees and the Anti-Racism team. She has filled various other roles here such as Worship Associate, and Theme Circle facilitator. Amy is a School Counselor in the Milwaukee Public Schools, and a part time storytelling coach for Ex Fabula. In her free time, she enjoys drumming, the outdoors, and cooking. She has two adult children, Preston and Niamh (Neeve), who grew up attending First Church.

Parking: Our church has no parking lot. Jewish Family Services lot: JFS welcomes us to use their parking lot on Sundays. It is located 3 blocks west of the church, on Van Buren near Knapp St. Kingshead lot: On Sundays we can also use the gated parking lot on the corner of Van Buren and Knapp Streets. After you park, get a token from an usher in order to exit the lot. We also rely on street parking in our neighborhood. Here is a map with details.
