“Surrender, Dorothy!”
September 26, 2021 | 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Today’s Topic:
This command from the movie The Wizard of Oz always comes to mind when I hear the word “surrender.” As I contemplate an increasingly adaptive future, I imagine the words “Surrender, Dena!” written in the sky by an acrobatic sky-writing airplane. “Surrender, First Church!” because we have to let go of what was that might no longer be real in order to embrace possibilities for the future. Answers won’t come unless we admit that we might be wrong (about anything) and release our control mindset. Surrender has long been part of the spiritual path.
