The Soul Loves the Body

August 11, 2024 | 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Today’s Topic:

Body versus Spirit is a false dichotomy that the church perpetuates to our harm. Embodiment means to give body to a spirit, so body and spirit are connected. We enter this world through a body and become a body to live. How can we reclaim the body in church, and why would we want to do that? Because embodiment is life!

Join us this Sunday when we explore the connections between spirit and body, and bless the backpacks of children returning to school.

Worship Team:

Rev. Dena McPhetres, Associate Minister
Rev. Kimberlee Tomczak Carlson, Minister of Religious Education
Tristan Strelitzer, Choral Director
Dave Umhoefer, Worship Associate

Livestream at 10:00 am:

Parking: Our church has no parking lot. Jewish Family Services lot: JFS welcomes us to use their parking lot on Sundays. It is located 3 blocks west of the church, on Van Buren near Knapp St. Kingshead lot: On Sundays we can also use the gated parking lot on the corner of Van Buren and Knapp Streets. After you park, get a token from an usher in order to exit the lot. We also rely on street parking in our neighborhood. Here is a map with details.
