Love Makes Us Brave
February 26, 2023 | 9:00 am & 11:00 am
Today’s Topic:
Poets from antiquity to today have lifted up the risks inherent in loving anything mortal, and remind us that such love can be rewarding and even holy. Join us for Rev. Jim’s first sermon with us as he explores how we can grow when we take a chance on love, and the ways that love can outlive our lives.
Rev. Jim Foti is a freelance UU minister based in Minnesota and Wisconsin. A Milwaukee native, he received his B.A. from UW-Madison and his Master of Divinity from Meadville Lombard Theological School in Chicago. From 2014 to 2022, he served as an assistant minister at the First Unitarian Society of Minneapolis and recently served as sabbatical minister at United UU Congregation in Waukesha. Prior to seminary, Jim had a 20-year career as a newspaper journalist, including three years at the Milwaukee Journal. Jim discovered Unitarian Universalism at First Church in the early 1990s and looks forward to helping serve the congregation over the next five months.
