Holiday Giving Tree & Winter Clothing Drive Begin Nov. 26

Two holiday mittens

Holiday Giving Tree:

This holiday season the Children’s Religious Education program leaders will once again be teaming up with a local organization to provide gifts for families in need. In the past, we have had requests for new items such as toys/games, sweaters, shirts, art supplies, and small denomination gift cards, but we will issue a more specific list once we confirm our chosen recipients.

The Holiday Giving Tree itself will be at the RE Table during coffee hour starting November 26. Choose a tag from the Giving Tree for bigger gifts or pick up a flyer with smaller gift ideas. Watch church announcements in November and the December Chanticleer for more information. All gift donations should be delivered unwrapped, please.

Winter Clothing Drive:

This year, we are proud to support one of our YRUU Youth Group members in her efforts to provide winter clothing and accessories for Parkside Elementary School in Bayview. Parkside School has over 60 refugee students and over 30 homeless students, all of whom need to stay warm this winter.

Christmas Tree

We are enthusiastically welcoming gifts of new or gently used winter outerwear and accessories, in sizes from children through adult. Donations must be clean and in working condition (i.e. zippers, snaps, and buttons.) These items may be hung on our Mitten Tree in the Common Room from December 3-17.
