By the Rev. Sara Goodman
In this season of hope and expectation, we wait for the light to return, for the new year to begin. We hope all our experience and growth will lead us through these times to a better future. We hope that what we’ve given has been enough, and that we can continue to learn and reflect on our experiences. As my time with you comes to a close at the end of this month, I am taking time to reflect on our time together. How swiftly five months go by, and yet, I feel we’ve done such good work. I have enjoyed meeting so many of you one on one and working more closely with others on the Pastoral Care Associates team and the Social Justice Council. We’ve shared meaningful worship experiences, and learned from each other how to navigate the waters of sabbatical ministry. Thank you all for welcoming me with such warmth and openheartedness, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Dena will return in January, rested and renewed, so she can resume her responsibilities in all aspects of her ministry with new energy and vigor.
