Ten members of our YRUU Youth Group and three adult advisors recently traveled to Battle Creek, Michigan, to work with Habitat for Humanity’s Collegiate Challenge program.
In five days, they built two full ramps for persons with disabilities, and gutted a house in preparation for new wiring, insulation, etc., to be rebuilt for a Habitat family.
This late-summer trip to do a work project in a nearby state has been an annual program for our First Church UU teens.
It’s a great example of our UU principles in action.
